Armchair Rockstar was a vision born among friends in mid-2018 piled into a penthouse at The Mirage in Las Vegas. A whirlwind weekend of ideas and a good number of starts and stops in between led to what you see today. The goal was to create a site where a newer musician could go to ask important questions that aren’t often answered on the internet. What should I know before I step on stage for the first time? What guitar is still a solid choice for on-stage use when you’re on a budget? Where can I find musicians who want to play what I do? There needed to be a place serving that need. Now, there is. Welcome to Armchair Rockstar!

Corey Noles playing guitar on stage.

Corey Noles has worked as a journalist and editor for more than 20 years. Armchair Rockstar is an effort to merge his career and passion into a special project that will help musicians at all stages of their career and development. Corey grew up in a musical family and began playing guitar and drums at age 6. He's not famous, doesn't even have a band. But he plays every day — like an Armchair Rockstar.

Shane Brisson is a master of all things design. He's spent more than 30 years of his life designing publications, advertisements, websites and is skilled in all things graphic design. Just like Corey, this project merges his creative passions with his love for all things music. Although he is not formally trained, noodling around on the bass and messing with the MIDI keyboard are some of his musical pastimes.
